I Love My Rights! I Love Bulgaria!

Because we love Bulgaria, we want it to be a better place for everyone to live. For the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee (BHC) team, this means a society supported by rule of law, a society where each human being has value and their rights are respected. We also believe that the vast majority of Bulgarians both within and outside the country share our desire for justice, institutions that work for the people, and equal opportunities so that everyone can live with dignity. Believing in human rights means believing that no person is worth more, or less, than anyone else.

Our new campaign, “I Love My Rights! I Love Bulgaria!,” involves a short survey you can find on the BHC website and our social media posts. By gathering ideas from our community of supporters, we want to find out what truly matters to you as a person who believes in human rights. What are the most important issues to you? What kind of injustices do you feel passionate about? What is the vision of Bulgaria you’re ready to work toward? Our survey is open to everyone in both Bulgarian and English and will take less than 5 minutes to fill out.

The campaign features some familiar faces who will be sharing what they love about Bulgaria and how they’re working to make it a better place every day. The graffiti images were collected during two projects combating hate speech, “No Hate” and “Equal Together”, and our team has enhanced them with messages from the new campaign. Our team will be appearing in short videos, too, to share what drives us in our work to promote and defend human rights.
